Ray of Light
My installation concerns wonder; prismatic light is created by applying colour to skylights, drawing attention to the ever-changing projections. I also interfere with beams of light by stretching hundreds of individual threads into graded angles, overlapping elements creating complex interactions of gradient colour. Colour is an element of visual language that is processed before we are consciously aware of it. Our mind compelled to set our mood to it, and through my work, I question colour and its ability to impact upon us. My work also examines connections between architecture and the site-specific, and the way we perceive and experience our bodies in space.
